Joe Shugart is an Atlanta-based designer. He works at Acuity Inc. as a senior graphic designer, where he develops brands, marketing campaigns, and print material. He led the rebranding efforts for multiple global brands, including Distech Controls, Acuity Academy, and Iota. In 2023, he was tasked with designing the company's annual and sustainability reports—a document seen by employees and investors around the world. Joe has won multiple awards for his work at Acuity.

Outside of Acuity, he works as a freelance designer and photographer for local businesses. He collaborates with founders, owners, and employees to design resonant visual brands, ensuring that the identity systems effectively highlight the company's best qualities. His approach is guided by collaboration, curiosity, and attention to detail. 

When not designing, Joe is usually out in his local park with his wife and daughter, taking pictures, experimenting with a New York Times recipe, or practicing his Japanese.
